Certification

Weyerhaeuser manages its forests for the sustainable production of wood and wood products that meet our customers' needs. We are committed to independent certification of our forest management, and meet the principles and objectives of applicable forest certification systems.

All of Weyerhaeuser's owned and managed forests in North America are certified to ISO14001 and to either the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) standard or the Canadian Standards Association (CAN/CSA Z809) Sustainable Forest Management standard.

The wood fiber raw material used to make Weyerhaeuser products in North America originate from forests in the United States and Canada, typically from forests in close proximity to the particular mill. Pulp mills in the U.S. have procurement systems that have been certified as complying with the SFI standard. Our Canadian timberlands have CSA chain of custody systems that track the wood fiber from the woods to our log using mills, and our Canadian pulp mills have, or are currently developing, chain of custody processes that will be third-party verified against CSA chain of custody standards.

Weyerhaeuser is proud of our commitments to forest and product certification. You can be assured that our products originate from responsible sources.
