Minerals, Oil and Gas
With so much experience managing natural resources and with stewardship over so much land, it makes sense that Weyerhaeuser is also involved in managing mineral resources. We promote exploration activity and support production and development on 5.3 million surface acres (7.1 million mineral acres) that we own in North America's most productive tree-growing regions. We actively seek experienced and reliable operators to explore and develop our lands. We select partners based on their technical expertise, operational track record, financial stability, environmental record, and exploration vision. We have entered into a number of oil, gas, and mineral agreements, including leases, seismic permits, exploration permits, joint ventures, and joint operating agreements on acreage ranging in size from individual tracts to large regional programs.
Our minerals group remains active throughout a mineral project's lifecycle, from exploration to development. We welcome inquiries and proposals and request that operators submit their exploration plans along with financial, operation and company background information.
