New Brunswick
Weyerhaeuser Company Limited began operating in New Brunswick with the November 1999 purchase of an oriented strand board mill in Miramichi, New Brunswick. Under long-term license, Weyerhaeuser manages 70,600 hectares (28,570 acres) in New Brunswick. Each year we plant hundreds of thousands of tree seedlings—300,000 seedlings in 2003 alone.
Weyerhaeuser's New Brunswick operations are certified under ISO 14001 (an international standard for environmental management systems) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative standard.
Trees harvested in New Brunswick produce oriented strand board used to build homes and other structures in the United States and Canada.
