Weyerhaeuser operates two mills in Ontario and manages 1.2 million hectares (3 million acres) of forestland under the Kenora Forest Sustainable Forest License.

The mills, located in Kenora and Wawa, are part of our iLevel business. The Kenora mill opened in 2002 and produces engineered lumber. The Wawa mill produces oriented strand board. However, it is not currently operating due to a downturn in demand.

The Kenora Sustainable Forest License has been independently certified as meeting the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® standard. In addition, the forest has an environmental management system that is aligned with the ISO 14001 standard.

Weyerhaeuser has mutually beneficial business relationships with local First Nations, including logging contracts with Wabaseemoong First Nation and Shoal Lake #39 First Nation, and cleaning product supply contracts with Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation.
