Weyerhaeuser’s fertilizer technology, known as Arborite®, is used to advance plant nutrition by reducing nitrogen loss.

The original product was developed for growing southern pine and has been used on more than two million acres of forestland since 1998. Arborite® has grown into a family of coated granular and suspension fertilizer products specially formulated for both agriculture and forestry.

ARBORITE®AG FOR AGRICULTURE

Arborite®AG is designed specifically for use in agriculture. The technology uses a unique NBPT-dissolving system to either coat urea granules or mix with urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) solutions. NBPT (n-butyl thiophosphoric triamide) helps inhibit the conversion of urea to ammonia and carbon dioxide. Reducing this volatility results in slowed nitrogen loss until adequate rain or irrigation can occur.

Arborite®AG can be purchased in 2.5-gallon jugs or in 250-gallon mini totes, to be used for treating urea and adding to UAN. For more information, read the product brochure.

ARBORITE®CUF FOR FORESTRY

Arborite®CUF is a coated urea fertilizer that was developed for use in forestry and has been used on more than two million acres of forestland since 1998. Arborite®CUF fertilizer is composed of phosphate-coated urea that incorporates nitrogen, phosphorus, and boron in a single granule treated to control nitrogen loss. Urea provides nitrogen for plant nutrition, supplemented by water-soluble boron and water-soluble phosphate. Other nutrients can be added to Arborite®CUF to supply a broader spectrum of nutrients, all in a single granule.

When faced with certain environmental conditions that increase nitrogen loss, such as temperature, moisture and humidity, Arborite®CUF EC (extended control) fertilizer will provide the same nutritional components as Arborite®CUF, but with even more control to reduce volatility and nitrogen loss.
