Business: Hardwoods & Industrial Products
Location: Federal Way, WA
Years of Service: 5 years

Current Position

I am an Accountant responsible for a mill, warehouses, and an R&D business. My responsibilities include analyzing payroll loading rates, inter-company sales reconciliations, reconciling log and lumber inventory and costs, and reviewing financials.

I started with WY as an intern in 2003 from Oregon State University. After my internship, I completed my final year of school while interning at a WY Composite business facility. I returned to the WY Corporate Campus after graduation to work in Payroll and from there I transferred to the Accounting organization where I now support the Hardwoods & Industrial Products business.

What do you enjoy about coming to work each day at WY?

I think the one thing that makes WY such a great company are the people that work here. Everyone genuinely cares about the safety and wellness of each other and ensures that we all go home in the same condition we came to work in.

What inspires you at work?

I enjoy having the opportunity to learn something new everyday. I am a volunteer member of a number of committees within our organization and I participate in a technical accounting mentorship program. Not only have these activities allowed me to network and grow in my career, but it has also allowed me to see the possibilities are endless and that I can reach as high as the stars.
