How does Weyerhaeuser define success? For us, it means being a good neighbor and an active corporate citizen, a core value since Weyerhaeuser’s founding in 1900. We understand that our company's success is tied to the health of local communities—and the global community—where we do business.
In the Puget Sound Region, Weyerhaeuser donates seedlings to nonprofit organizations that involve children in organized tree-planting projects.
In January 2010, Weyerhaeuser announced an initial pledge of up to $250,000 in building materials and technical assistance to aid in rebuilding Haiti. "As this devastating tragedy has shown, Haiti must not only be rebuilt, but it must also be rebuilt safely to prevent future tragedies of this type," says Dan Fulton, president and chief executive officer. "As a leader in the building materials industry, we can do our part to help achieve a safer Haiti as it recovers from this earthquake."
