GreenvilleEnvironmental ManagementThe teacher will inventory all products and chemicals at the mill and ensure that MSDS (Material Data Sheets) are current and aligned with the DOLPHIN data base and update any hard and electronical copies where needed. Review and ensure all chemicals/products have proper label information and eliminating duplication. This will serve as the yearly review / audit of the chemical products at the mill.
New BernWater Quality, Reptile & Amphibian Monitoring
(2 assignments)
The purpose of this position is to collect water quality data across different water body types in different habitats to establish a base line, comparison survey. The teacher will also collect data on reptiles and amphibians one day a week as a continuation of a long term survey. Work will involve handling of reptiles and amphibians to take various measurements. This position will be based primarily outdoors in a rugged field environment. This is a hands on physical working environment.
Production Forestry ResearchThe TOSA will be involved in field research focused on responses to added nutrition, forest sustainability, and biomass. This can require working in the field with other team members, establishing and maintaining plots, applying treatments, measuring treatment responses, collecting soil and foliage samples, monitoring environmental variables, summarizing data, and reporting results.
New Bern or WashingtonEnvironmental Field TrainerThe function of this position is to go out into the field and help train contractors and their employees in understanding and applying Weyerhaeuser environmental expectations on the ground. This TOSA would be spending the majority of the time in the field interviewing and training contractors involved in all aspects of forestry, including loggers, bulldozer operators, herbicide applicators, fertilizer applicators, etc.
