Stivers
William
C. Stivers was elected executive vice president and chief financial
officer on April 21, 1998. He joined Weyerhaeuser Company as finance
manager and treasurer of the newly formed Weyerhaeuser Real Estate
Company in 1970. In 1972, he was elected Weyerhaeuser Company treasurer,
and elected vice president in 1980. Stivers was elected senior vice
president and chief financial officer in 1990.
From 1962 to
1970, he was employed by First Interstate Bank of California (formerly
United California Bank), where he served as assistant vice president
and vice president.
Stivers earned
a bachelor of arts degree from Stanford University in 1960 and a master
of business administration degree from the University of Southern
California in 1963. He received a certificate from the Pacific Coast
School of Banking in 1969, and completed the Advanced Management
Program at Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in
1977.
Stivers is a
director and officer of various Weyerhaeuser subsidiaries and affiliates.
In addition, he serves on the boards of the Protection Mutual Insurance
Co. and the Pacific-Rim Finance Center at the University of Washingtons
Graduate School of Business Administration. Stivers is chairman
of the Financial Management Committee of the American Forest &
Paper Association, past chairman of St. Francis Hospital and chairman
and president of S&S Land and Cattle Company. He is a member
of Chase Manhattan Banks National Advisory Board and the Financial
Executives Institute.
