Gozon
Richard C. Gozon
joined Weyerhaeuser Company on June 1, 1994, as executive vice president
for Pulp, Paper and Packaging. He is responsible for Weyerhaeusers
Pulp, Fine Paper, Containerboard Packaging, Newsprint, Recycling,
Liquid Packaging Board, and Chemical businesses. In April 1995, he
assumed responsibility for Westwood Shipping Lines, a Weyerhaeuser
Company subsidiary.
Gozon formerly
was president and chief operating officer of Alco Standard Corporation,
one of the worlds largest independent distributors of paper
and office equipment.
His 35-year
career in the paper industry began in 1960 when he joined Champion
International in its distribution company, Nationwide Papers. In
1972, he joined Alco Standard as president of Rourke-Eno Paper Company.
He was named executive vice president of Alcos Unisource Corporation
in 1978 and became president of Unisource in 1979. He was president
and chief executive officer of Paper Corporation of America, Alcos
paper group, from 1979 to 1987.
In 1984, Gozon
was elected to the board of directors of Alco Standard and was named
executive vice president and chief operating officer in 1987. He
served as president and chief operating officer of Alco Standard
from 1988 through 1993.
Gozon holds
a bachelor of arts degree from Valparaiso University and is a graduate
of the Harvard Advanced Management Program.
He is a director
of U.G.I. Corporation, The Triumph Group and AmeriSource Health
Corporation. He served as a director of Alco Standard Corporation
from 1984 to 1993 and served on the board of trustees for Childrens
Hospital of Philadelphia from 1992 to 1994.
Gozon is married
and has three children.
