Steven R. Hill
Steven R. Hill began his
association with Weyerhaeuser Company as a forester in 1968. After
several management positions in the raw materials business, he joined
Corporate Human Resources in 1980. In 1986, he was elected vice
president and, in 1990, senior vice president, human resources.
In 1997 he assumed sponsorship of Information Technology.
He received
a bachelor of science degree in forest management from the University
of California at Berkeley in 1969. In 1971, he received a master
of business administration degree from the University of California
at Los Angeles.
Hill was appointed
to the board of directors of Weyerhaeuser Canada Ltd., in February
1996. He is a member of the first class of the American Leadership
Forum Chapter for Tacoma-Pierce County, a director of the Tacoma
YMCA and Seattle Symphony. He serves as a trustee for both the
Greater Tacoma Community Foundation and the Weyerhaeuser Company
Foundation
Hill is past
president of the board of the Puget Sound Health Care Purchasers
Association. He has served as the private employer representative
on the Washington State Hospital Rate Setting Commission.
In 1978, Hill
was appointed a White House Fellow and served as staff assistant
in the Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy. He is
a past president and board member of the White House Fellows Association.
