Safety
is a core value at Weyerhaeuser and the companys number
one priority. We measure safety by recordable incident
rate, which is the number of recordable safety incidents

incident rate was 3.8 compared with 4.6 in 1997, a 17
percent decrease. The target for 1999 is 2.5. The ongoing
goal is a rate of less than one. Those facilities or
operations receiving significant external recognition
for their efforts to improve safety during 1998 include: |
