On July 6, Ross Theilen, vice president of Distribution, was the featured guest on “The Construction Leadership Podcast with Bradley Hartmann,” an influential podcast in the construction industry.
Ross and Bradley talked about the ever-evolving landscape of distribution sales and shared valuable perspectives gained from industry experience and being intentional in all aspects of business.
“If we aren't intentional with our actions and the way we communicate, our business dealings can too often get reduced to ‘what’s your price?’ or ‘when will it ship?’,” Ross says. “This conversation with Bradley gave me the opportunity to talk about a lot of the things we do that make our business unique, interesting and fulfilling. It’s important to me personally to share the way we solve problems, develop people and innovate, and that’s why I was excited to join the podcast.”
Their conversation covered a wide range of topics, from value-add delivery to misperceptions of entitlement, from showing up for our customers to how we cultivate innovation with CuttingEdge and the challenges and opportunities of working at a large company. Ross also talked about how he “assumes noble intent” when working with others to avoid falling into an “us versus them” mentality.
