We create useful products made from trees, one of nature's most remarkable and renewable resources. In turn, we have a responsibility to ensure our products have minimal impact on people and the environment.

Our comprehensive Product Stewardship Policy outlines our commitment to a life-cycle approach that considers the environmental, health and safety impacts of our products, from design to end of life. Implementation of this policy reduces risk and liability, promotes compliance with applicable regulations and helps deliver sustainable products to the marketplace.

Our Chemical Management Policy and program work together with our product stewardship program to reduce risk by comprehensively managing chemicals approved for use, reducing or eliminating the overall number of chemicals used in our operations, and using less-hazardous chemical substitutes whenever possible. We also use a companywide database — accessible to all employees — that provides easy access to all hazardous chemical’s safety data sheets and labels.

In addition, we share our safety data sheets and corresponding product labels to help ensure our customers and their employees handle our products safely.

Each safety data sheet listed below includes the corresponding product label on the last page.

Transparent Chemical Reporting

Annually, for facilities that trigger reporting thresholds, we publicly report the release of certain chemicals into the air, water and land under the U.S. Toxics Release Inventory (search for a specific Weyerhaeuser facility in "TRI Facility Name") and the Canadian National Pollutant Release Inventory (search for "Weyerhaeuser" in "Company or Facility Name"). With rare exceptions, these are lawfully permitted releases that are made in a controlled fashion after steps have been taken to reduce the emissions and mitigate their effects. Both inventories mandate that we report total releases without regard to changes in production levels.

We also provide detailed information for our Kenora TimberStrand facility under Ontario's Toxic Substance Accounting program:
